ICALLAS 2026 seeks to explore and strengthen the multiple transatlantic connections that have shaped histories, ideas, and futures across both continents.

Many of these are located within a short distance from the University of Ghana, Legon, providing easy access to the conference venue.

  • August 4: Pre-Conference Excursion (Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum)

  • August 8: Post-Conference Excursion (heritage sites & Kakum National Park)

‎As part of the ICALLAS 2026 experience, participants are invited to join our cultural excursions:

  • ‎August 4: Visit to the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum in Accra

  • August 8: Visit to Kakum National Park at Cape Coast, with stops at historic sites including the slave castles and other heritage landmarks along the route.

‎Important Notice

‎‎Please note that participation in the pre- and post-conference cultural activities will depend on the number of registered participants who sign up for each excursion.

‎Activities may be adjusted, rescheduled, or combined based on final participant numbers and logistical considerations.

‎Details regarding registration fees for Pre- and Post-Conference Cultural Activities, transportation, and schedules will be communicated closer to the conference dates.
