This is an interdisciplinary conference like no other. This year’s edition is organized by the Centre for Latin American Studies of the University of Ghana (UG) in collaboration with the Ghanaian Association of Hispanists, the Department of European Languages (UG) and the Institute of African Studies (UG). The purpose of ICALLAS is to build and sustain, on African soil, a dialogue among the various disciplines engaged in the study of issues related to Africa and the peoples of African ancestry in Brazil, the Caribbean, and the Spanish-speaking world. Participants are also encouraged to make presentations on the wider and inclusive geographic representation of French-speaking communities.
